Regular, luxury yoga classes during the day and in the evening at the Lotus Retreat, Oxfordshire
At The Lotus Retreat we run daily yoga classes with a variety of styles ranging from Hatha to Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced yogi there is something for everyone. Just pop in and we will discuss your needs and the best class for you.
We keep class sizes to a maximum of 10 to ensure that all students have the full focus of their teacher and enough space to move freely.
We like to call yoga at the Lotus Retreat “luxury yoga” because of the beauty of the space (always warm, candlelit and filled with aroma of natural oils) and the nurturing attention you will receive. During the summer the patio doors can be opened onto the courtyard offering light and air. You are welcome to stay and enjoy a tea or coffee after your class in our cosy lounge area. We believe yoga at the Lotus Retreat is something a little more special that your average yoga class which is why so many of our students have stayed with us throughout the years.

“Movement is the gift of life and we should cherish, honor and celebrate it”.
Jen has always been passionate about movement and has been drawn to dance, theatre and gymnastics. Jen discovered yoga in her late teens and was hooked from her very first class. After completing her Theatre degree in 2009 she packed her bags and travelled to Kerala, India to further explore her love of yoga. She gained an international yoga teaching qualification from the Sivananda Yoga Ashram in India, where she undertook an intense training regime.
Jen has established a unique style of teaching which incorporates her passion for flow and movement, including long vinyasa inspired sequences. Alongside this, Jen provides a nurturing approach to teaching and a supportive environment to allow student’s to deepen their practice. As a qualified massage therapist, Jen uses her skills to soothe, enhance and treat her student’s while in yoga postures. Jen’s most recent endeavor is her Masters degree in Osteopathy. Jen’s ultimate aim is to combine her yoga and osteopathy to provide a deeper insight into the wonders of the body, movement and healing.

Katie Jones is passionate about teaching yoga to both adults and children. The techniques Katie focuses on, help to quieten and still the mind and create space in an increasingly frantic world. This is the slowest time we will ever know. Whilst we are surrounded by such wonderful stimuli, we often forget to stop and appreciate what is around us, here, now, in this very moment.
Katie teaches a creative Vinyasa Flow style of yoga that is often linked to themes such as the elements of nature, chakras, nurturing ourselves and letting go of what no serves us. Katie trained with the Yoga Alliance Accredited Wild Vibrant Yoga Teacher Training and is also a Reiki Practitioner. Katie is also Founder of Wellbeing in Schools which teaches children how to self regulate through yoga, breathing techniques and meditation.
Katie's classes are suitable for all levels with a focus on balancing, calming and nurturing ourselves.

Bibhu was first introduced to yoga as a teenager following a horse riding accident. Through his recovery, he came to appreciate the capabilities of the human body and its healing processes. Alongside a lifelong passion for sports, he has been practising yoga for over 25 years.
Bibhu trained in Mysore in the tradition of Krishnamacharya (whose students included Pattabhi Jois and BKS Iyengar), under the instruction of Bharat Shetty. He is a Yoga Alliance USA certified teacher.
With the firm belief that yoga should be accessible to all people, regardless of physical fitness or ability, Bibhu encourages his students to practise at their own pace, working closely with the breath, listening to the body and observing the changes in the mind. Alongside careful technical instruction, Bibhu's classes inculcate a feeling of presence, of mindful awareness and ultimately bliss, which you can carry into all areas of your life.
